Mineral Masses (Quarries)
Prospecting and research of mineral masses
Exploration covers a set of studies and work, preceding the exploitation phase, whose purpose is to determine the characteristics and assess the economic interest of exploiting mineral deposits.
The prospector must delineate and execute the programs of research work in accordance with responsible environmental management criteria, evaluating, preventing and minimizing possible negative impacts.
At the end of the exploration work, the prospector must reclaim the areas that have been worked on, restoring the topography and soil to a situation equivalent to the initial one. Likewise, it must seal the boreholes.
The applicant for an exploration license must submit the completed Application for an Exploration License to the licensing authority (DGEG), together with the elements stipulated therein.
Deadlines granted for the Exploration Permit:
Research License Validity | 1 year |
Extension of Research License | For one time only, for an equal period (* 1 year) |
*At the request of the Holder, with 30 days notice.
The exploration permit does not authorise its holder to aline or sell the mineral substances extracted, without prejudice to the carrying out of analyses, laboratory and semi-industrial tests and market tests within the scope of the pursuit of the purposes inherent to the exploration activity.
Only the holder of the current exploration license is entitled to apply for an exploration license for the mineral masses and area covered by it.
