This work addresses the evolution of governance models while seeking to trace the path of Administrative Modernisation from the end of the Estado Novo to the present day, focusing on e-government in Portugal and its positioning in the European Union, highlighting the fundamental role of digital literacy. It also aims to explain how the collection and availability of statistical information on geological resources is processed in the Directorate General for Energy and Geology, proposing improvements namely in the availability of this type of information to the citizen. It is also referred, throughout the work, the importance that the use of information technologies have acquired nowadays, especially in the time of pandemic in which we live.
