International Copper, Lead and Zinc, and Nickel Study Groups

 

These three international organizations have established an agreement with Portugal for the installation of their respective headquarters in Lisbon. DGEG is responsible for representing Portugal in these three international organizations.

 

The main objectives of these Groups are: 1) promote the international cooperation in the areas of health, environment, research and technological innovation, regulation and markets; 2) provide a forum for discussion, where industry and governments can analyze and debate all issues related to these metals, with interest for the producing and consuming countries; 3) create market transparency and promote the exchange of statistical information on production, consumption, analysis of the current situation and prediction of industry´s future.

 

The relevance of these groups for the metallic mineral resources sector is considerable, as these International Groups produce a continuous flow of information for the market on developments in supply and demand for these metals, through the monthly publication of high quality statistical data and in-depth technical research on the use of these metals.
