Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon launched the Sustainable Energy for All initiative in 2011.
Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is an international organization working in partnership with the United Nations and government leaders, the private sector, financial institutions, civil society and philanthropies to drive faster action towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) - access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030 – in line with the Paris climate agreement.
SEforALL works to ensure a clean energy transition that leaves no one behind and brings new opportunities for everyone to realize their potential.
It is an independent organization, maintains close links with the UN, including through a relationship agreement, partnerships with UN agencies and with the CEO of SEforALL acting as UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All and Co-Chair of UN-Energy.
